The German arrival
We had a long overnight flight with Lufthansa from Munich to Sao Paulo, then six hours stopover for our connecting flight to Maringá. After nearly 24 hours without oxygen we happy arrived at our first station in Brazil. We had a big and friendly welcome from our brazilian friends. Thank you so much, we quickly felt welcome!
BBQ
For Late-Lunch we had a traditional brazilian barbecue in one of our hostfamilies.
The appetizer were some really good grilled chicken wings, chorrizo and beef with maniok powder (farinha). Our main course consists of different kind of salads e.g. potato salad (very typical for Brazil!!), meet and of course rice and beans :) The desert was a grilled banana with milk-cinamon.sauce and pudding. Very delicious. For drinks we tried cachaça, brazilian beer, guarana and of course CAIPIRINHA as a welcome drink. Very strong, but good :)
Then we drove to our own hostfamilies and enjoyed a relaxed evening and went early to bed.

Lunch time
For Lunch we went in the 25th floor of a hotel. First of all we take the elevator out of glass next to the house. So we could see how the is getting smaller and smaller. Then upstairs we had an unbelievable and wonderful view over the city. Awesome ;) In this great atmosphere we enjoyed a very tasty buffet with different kind of meat, rice and of course beans :) And the pudding as dessert, yummy.

We visited the COCAMAR cooperative. A fabric who roasts the coffee beans, packs different kind of juices, oil, vinegar, produces ketchup, moustard and mayonaise. We could see how they select the best coffee, with dividing, smelling and tasting.
Lunch we had in a japanese/chinese/brazilian restaurante.

Because of partying last night, we could sleep until lunch. In the afternoon we made a tour through the tropical forests of Maringá. There where monkeys everywhere and they took our sugarcane juice and drank it as fast as possible.
At nine o´clock p.m. we had some final Caipirinia in a bar :) and celebrate the last evening with our hostfamilies in Maringá. Thanks a lot - but we will come back :)
